For the week ending Saturday September 6th 11 auctions were archived to the AED, 1 in Australian dollars, 3 in euros, and 7 in US dollars.  Turnover was a slim $1,163,517 as 3,568 lots were offered and 2,826 sold for a 79% success rate.  Auction houses in the books, manuscripts, maps and ephemera categories have seen their last days off until the end of the year.

 

< A first edition of perhaps the most important scientific book ever published, Newton's Principia, will be sold at Koller's on September 20 (image is a link).


No auctions saw their total proceeds reach a million dollars this week.

 

< The only known extant poster from the Beatles' only Australian tour will be sold at Alexander Historical Auctions September  9 (image is a link).
