Auction Update Review

The Summer is slipping by

For the week ended Saturday August 9th 10 auctions were archived to the AED; 2 in euros, 1 in British pounds, and 7 in US dollars.  It was a slim week and one that just a few years ago might have been lumped in with another.  But these days the lights in the auction rooms never go out and so the weekly updates continue apace.

No million dollar sales were archived this week but two sales saw their total proceeds exceed 100% of the high estimates of all lots offered.

Bruun Rasmussen. Old Master Prints on June 9th: 195.73%
Doyle New York. End of Summer Sale - Prints on August 6th: 104.53%

<--- Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers.  Sale 1433/6000.  Danish Antiquarian Bookshop with 20,000 to 25,000 book titles to be sold on Tuesday August 12th as a single lot.  Estimated $18,090 to $26,800 [the image is a link to the auction]
