Auction Update Review

A strong week behind, a busy week ahead

For the week ending Saturday February 2nd 20 auctions were archived to the AED; 11 in US dollars, 5 in British pounds, and 4 in euros.  Total turnover was $9,450,851, 90% of the aggregate high estimate of all lots offered.  Four thousand nine hundred and eighteen lots were offered and 3,480 sold for a 71% success rate.

 

One sale and it was a big one, Christie’s sale of Old Master Prints on January 29th made $6,002,750.  No other sale reached a million dollars.

 

Five sales saw their proceeds reach 100% of the total of their high estimates and two other were close enough to mention them:
