This book covers crime and police in the city from 1606-1880 (it was published in 1888). It includes accounts of crime fighters in the city along with sections on robberies, murders, floods, riots, and the Civil War. Authored by De Francias Folsom. $375. Item 83 is Thomas J. Scharf's History of Baltimore City and County from the Earliest Period to the Present Day Including Biographical Sketches of Their Representative Men. This is a thorough history of Baltimore, from the time of its Indian inhabitants through its founding and forward to the time of this publication (1881). Fires, the telegraph, customs, secret societies, riots, mobs, and the Civil War are among the many subjects. $475.
