Theodore Lane was a young British artist when he first began exhibiting at the Royal Academy. In 1825, he hooked up with humorist Pierce Egan to provide amusing illustrations for “The Life of an Actor.” Unfortunately, the talented illustrator’s life was cut short at the age of 28 when he accidentally stepped on a skylight and fell to the pavement below. Item 9 is six hand-colored engraved plates created by Lane around 1826. $5,500.
