How could you have an Italian antiquarian catalogue without something from Galileo? You couldn't. Item 94 is Opere di Galileo Galilei nobile fiorentino accademico linceo, a second edition of the works of Galileo. Galileo, scientist, astronomer, man before his time, needs no introduction. His belief that the Earth orbited the sun led to his house arrest by the Church, regret for which was formally stated by the Pope in 1992, three and one-half centuries after he died. This edition was published in 1718. €3,600 (US $4,811).

Studio Bibliografico Lex Antiqua is located in Castiglione dei Pepoli, near Bologna. If you cannot make the trip, you may visit them online at www.lexantiqua.com. Their telephone number is +39-053491100.
