Discounted Western Books and Ephemera from Johns' Western Gallery

If the previous two items have convinced you to become an Earle Forrest collector, item 417 is a real treat. It is Earle Forrest's barbed wire collection. Forrest has stapled samples of six types of barbed wire to a framed board, and added a rifle ball and four arrowheads to the center. What could be more western than that? $49.
Item 158 is one of the most important titles for California collectors, number 5 on the exclusive Zamorano 80 -- Reminiscences of a Ranger; or, Early Times in Southern California, by Major Horace Bell. This is a first edition from 1881, and it depicts L.A. Law as it was in the days long before television. $293. For a more recent update, item 157 is Bell's 1930 follow-up, On the Old West Coast, Being further Reminiscences of a Ranger. $23.
Here is a century-old reference book which should be just about as good today as it was then. Censuses, encyclopedias and such from 1906 are long out of date, but how about A Dictionary of Altitudes in the United States? Perhaps geologic processes have whacked an inch or two off of some mountains here and there, or even added that much, but outside of Mount St. Helens (which is probably not covered in this book anyway), Henry Gannett's work should still be useful today.
