Hortense de Beaubarnais was daughter of an Empress, wife of a King, and mother of an Emperor.
Item 14 is Reize Rondom de Wereld, door James Cook... This is the first Dutch translation of Cook's three voyages, published in 14 volumes from 1795-1809. In this set, the maps and plates, usually found in a separate atlas volume, are bound into the text volumes at the appropriate places. It also includes a brief biography of Captain James Cook. €7,950 (US $10,125).
Item 15 is David Cranz's Historie van Groenland, published in Amsterdam in 1767. This history of Greenland was written by Cranz, a Moravian missionary, who tells much about the land and people of cold places while promoting his faith. €1,010 (US $1,286).
