Fifteen Catalogues Reviewed in Section II
This month we review 15 new bookseller catalogues in Section Two. Hodern House has issued an absolutely stunning catalogue of a major collection relating to famed explorer Captain James Cook. John Windle Antiquarian Bookseller has issued a combination printed and digital catalogue to provide a thorough and detailed look at a collection of illuminated manuscripts. New catalogues of signed documents and autographs have been released by both the Raab Collection and David Schulson Autographs.
Vintage travel photographs are the topic of a new catalogue from Bernard J. Shapero Rare Books. Posters dated from 1890-1973 are the subject of the latest from Burkhard Sulzen. The cold polar regions are the focus of Aquila Books, while the much warmer climes of Spain and Hispanica are the focus of Paul Orssich. Or, you can find some California art being offered by the Arader Galleries.
James Pepper Rare Books offers 15 collections, most relating to film and literature, but including a large group of items from early New Mexico once possessed by one of her first territorial governors. More of the American West is covered by Old West Books. The William Reese Company has a collection of exotic imprints, while Samuel Gedge Rare Books and Michael Sharpe Rare & Antiquarian Books have collections of new acquisitions. Oak Knoll Press offers some new publications relating to books and the book arts.
