Articles - November - 2013 Issue

Auctions in November

151 auction event days are scheduled for November.  For the entire month a sale begins, on average, every 4:46.  It’s simply busy.  Big books and small coexist with interesting material in some cases estimated at several hundred dollars.  By dollars the month seems likely to set new records.  After all the Bay Psalm at Sotheby’s and Washington’s Thanksgiving decree at Christies at their low estimates total $23 million.  As the market shifts to auctions the options are breathtaking.
