Source Title
Description Johns' Western Gallery of San Francisco, California, was founded in 2001 by Doug Johns, who came with almost 20 years experience in auction sales of books, maps and related ephemera. The first auction was held in May, 2002. In establishing his house, Johns turned to his field of primary interest, Americana and the West.

The material focused upon by Johns' includes books, manuscripts, maps, photographs, art, and ephemera. Auctions are held four to six times per year, while some material is also sold via a fixed-price format. Among the sales held at Johns' Western Gallery were those of the Los Angeles collection of Glen Dawson, who for 58 years operated the legendary Dawson's Book Shop in L.A.
