Lot 21. Yaggy's Geographical Atlas

Lot 219.  McKenny & Hall’s landmark “History of the Indian Tribes of North America.  A mixed set, 3 atlas folio volumes.  Missing three [of 40] plates in vol. one, vols II and III complete, a total of 117 colored plates.  An imperfect set that may fetch only half of the price of a perfect matched set.  Estimated $30,000 to $40,000

251.  Huckleberry Finn.  First state with all issue points save one.  A very rare book.  Estimated $10,000 to $15,000

Lot 324.  An important work for the artwork it contains by Frida Kahlo.  The volume is Ms. Kahlo’s personal copy of vol. III of The Works of Edgar Allen Poe containing multiple inscriptions, collages and drawings in her own hand.  An exceptional item for a collector or collection.  Estimated $20,000 to $30,000

Lot 1.  The property of Dr. Sherman Minton, renowned herpetologist.  A very nice copy of John Edwards Holbrook’s North American Herpetology, three vols, printed 18936-1838.  Estimated $8,000 to $12,000

Lot 53.  Ehon taka kagami [An illustrated Mirror of Hawks] illustrated by [Asian] Kyosai, [To-Iku Kawanabe] [Tokyo:  Nakamura, 1866-1880].  Two vols, expanded to 5 parts.  Very original.  Estimated $6,000-$8,000.

Lot 21.  A teaching atlas.  Yaggy’s Geographical Atlas printed in 1887.  An exceptionally rare children’s teaching aid including maps, plates, and moveable parts.  For collectors of books as objects this item deserves consideration.  Estimated $ 4,000 to $6,000.
