In the days before tattooing became so popular, Hester Prynne had to wear a marking to set her apart from others. It was not complimentary. Item 59 is the 1850 first edition of The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Students may be looking to get "A's," but not this kind. $8,500.

Item 192 is a 1970 first edition of Time and Again by Jack Finney. This is a book about time travel back to the previous century. It comes with a handwritten note from the author's wife, explaining her husband cannot sign the owner's copy because he has been dead for four years. Perhaps the owner was hoping she would travel his copy back in time to when Finney was still able to sign his autograph. $500.

For fans of the TV drama L.A. Law, item 15 is Steven Bochco and Terry Fisher's 1986 script for the two-hour long pilot.
