American music was exploding in all different directions in the late 1960s, and many of those artists headed to Europe where their sounds were often more appreciated than at home. Item 77 is a 1967 poster for Soul Time, featuring Sam and Dave, along with Percy Sledge and Arthur Conley. Full profiles of the “Soul Men” are featured on the poster. €240 (US $300). The following year, it would be the American Folk Blues Festival, the bright lights and big city of Frankfurt set to host Jimmy Reed and John Lee Hooker. Item 78. €210 (US $262). The “Blues Boy,” B.B. King, would make his appearance around the same time in Frankfurt. King and “Lucille” are featured on the poster. Item 79. €160 (US $200). Ten Years After weren't goin' home after appearing at Woodstock in 1969. Instead it was off to Hamburg for a fall concert. Item 80. €140 (US $175). Remember when flying was fun? Seems like ages ago. Though not the best, they actually served meals on flights, and you could get a pillow for your head, or a blanket to keep warm, free. Seriously, it was once this way. Item 106 is a poster for LOT, the Polish Airlines, from 1971. It features a lovely, smiling flight attendant, gently holding a young child. If you want a flight attendant to hold your child today, it's an extra $25. €240 (US $300).
