Auction Update Review

We're off

For the week ending Saturday September 1st, 2012 16 auctions were archived to the AED; 1 in Mexican pesos, 1 in Australian dollars, 7 in US dollars and 7 in British pounds.  Turnover was light at $1,511,409.  Four thousand and seventy-seven lots were offered and 3,225 sold for a 79% success rate.  The strongest sale results were achieved at Lyon and Turnbull, the UK auction house.  They offered rare books, maps and manuscripts on August 29th and realized $624,088, 130% of their aggregate high estimate for all lots.

 

For the week three auctions reached 100% of their total high estimate:
