Auction Update Review
The Last Days of Summer
This past week 7 sales was archived
in the AED: 1 in British Pounds, 2 in
Euros, and 4 in US dollars. Total sales
were the least of any week this year - $230,654. Not so long ago few if any sales were held in
August but the tightening annual schedule and surfeit of material make August
increasingly palatable. In years to come
it will be an important month.
Seven hundred ninety-two items were
offered and 679 sold for an 86% rate of sale.
The Poulin Sale in Maine was the only one to achieve 100% of their
aggregate high estimate: 106%. Bonham’s estate sale on August 14th
came close with 98%.
For the coming week five sales are
scheduled:
Monday August 22nd Cowan’s Burchard Flat-Mount Stereoview Collection;
Wednesday Aug. 24th Eldred’s Prints of Paul Jacoulet;
Thursday August 25th Cowan’s Décor;
PBA’s
Fine Golf Books;
Saturday August 27th Morton Casa de Subastas’ Opportunities
