18 New Catalogues Reviewed

AE Monthly reviews 18 catalogues this month.


Eighteen new bookseller catalogues are up for review in August.

Collectors of Americana will find new catalogues from both William Reese and David Lesser Antiquarian Books. Clark Rare Books targets the American West, as does Kenston Books with an added focus on Texas. George MacManus starts a series of catalogues on the Civil War this month.

New catalogues of signed documents are available from the Raab Collection and Stuart Lutz Historic Documents. Both James Cummins Bookseller and Gert Jan Bestebreurtje Rare Books have aptly and identically named catalogues - Summer Miscellany. Forest Books and Oak Knoll feature bibliographies and books about books, while Waverly Books and James Pepper Rare Books feature literature, film, fiction and mystery.

Travel and voyages are offered by Reg and Philip Remington. The Arader Galleries present maps from the age of exploration. The Book Collector has accountings of famous chess matches. Elysium Books offers works of particular interest to the gay community. Bernard J. Shapero Rare Books adds another catalogue to their series of "50 Favourites."
