<b>AE</b> Services Part 2: Get Keywords

- by Michael Stillman

"Get Keywords" found 24 terms worth including in a listing of a Lewis and Clark item.

The natives were simply engaging in what we today call "homeland security," and one can only imagine how we would react if faced with the overwhelmingly powerful attack by outsiders on our own soil that the Indians faced. However, our purpose is not to address issues of right and wrong from another era, but simply to help you find books hidden in the back nooks and crannies of the internet. These are a few more terms that may help you find items others miss.

The other side of the buying equation is, naturally, selling. Here you may want to go even broader in your terms. Let's say you have a book pertaining to Lewis and Clark's expedition you wish to sell. Since "Lewis" and "Clark" are fairly common names (you probably don't want collectors of Jerry Lewis or Clark Gable) we searched the AED for "Meriwether Lewis." Once we had those matches, we got the keywords, pared down the irrelevancies, and came up with the list in the image on this page. Today, keywords are a critical part of getting your items seen on sites like eBay, but you don't want to engage in spam-like keyword stuffing. That is when you list all types of unrelated keywords so more people will see your listing, even though most will have no interest in it and will be very annoyed by your spam. Here we have a list of keywords that pertain to Lewis and Clark's expedition that you will want to include with your listing. Among them is "Clarke," and you don't want to miss this misspelling because probably half of the world mistakenly spells his name with an "e."

Once you have obtained your keywords, you can simply copy them into your listing. Alternatively, you can click the "Get HTML code" which enables you to create a page with the keywords that can be attached to your listing. The "Email to me" button allows you to send the list to your email address so you have a permanent copy.

"Get Keywords" is a very useful side order that comes with your subscription to the AE Database. The AED is included with all Research and Premium Memberships. They can be purchased as a one-week trial (cheapest), monthly automatic billing basis, or annual basis (best deal).
