Seven New Catalogues Reviewed This Month

- by Michael Stillman

Seven new catalogues reviewed this month.

This month we review seven new bookseller catalogues. Whitmore Rare Books is back with a new catalogue filled with literary masterpieces. Seasoned collectors at the top end of collecting will appreciate what they offer. Libreria de Antano, the Argentine specialists in books from Latin America, traveled north of the border with a selection of books for the recent California Antiquarian Book Fair. The Lawbook Exchange prepared a catalogue for the New York Antiquarian Book Fair, taking place at the time this review is published (through May 3). They have books both for legal experts and non-lawyers interested in famous legal cases and the application of the law to the rest of us.

Americana is on tap for several booksellers this month. The William Reese Company specializes in Americana and they are out with a catalogue of new acquisitions this month. Langdon Manor Books has issued their second catalogue of All Americans, there are lots of us, vastly different but Americans all. The George S. MacManus Company focuses on one specific time in American history, but perhaps the most important of all – the American Revolution. David M. Lesser Fine Antiquarian Books has issued their 217th catalogue of Rare Americana.
