Sixteen New Catalogues Reviewed This Month

- by Michael Stillman

Sixteen new catalogues.

With the holiday season upon us, booksellers are making the most of the giving season. Sixteen new catalogues are up for review this month. For those looking for the uncommon and unusual, Brian Cassidy Bookseller always has a healthy selection of that sort of material. Walkabout Books also has a great selection of the odd and uncommon.

For travelers, Antiquariat Kainbacher has a selection of travels and expeditions ranging from the tropics to the Arctic. But if you are traveling by sea, Daniel Crouch Rare Books has some cautionary material - a selection of books pertaining to pirates and privateers.

Collectors of Americana have a wide selection this month. Donald Heald Rare Books offers a selection for those who collect Americana at the highest level. Primary Sources Uncharted Americana has original source material in the field. Back of Beyond Books' major focus is Western Americana, though they carry a variety of items outside their specialty this time.

Ursus Rare Books presents illustrated books from 1497-2011, which covers almost the entire era of printing. James Tait Goodrich offers medical books, Japanese interest, pre-Columbian artifacts, and more. Langdon Manor Books features archives and other items from ordinary, yet extraordinary people. John Windle Antiquarian Bookseller offers fine press books. The Lawbook Exchange focuses on legal books and manuscripts.

The Kelmscott Bookshop features the book arts, illustrated books, literature, first appearances and more. Whitmore Rare Books offers fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Jonathan A. Hill Bookseller has an antiquarian miscellany. Raptis Rare Books offers important books and ephemera.
