This month, Old World Auctions, the online-only auction house specializing in cartography, is hosting a special sale involving three dealers who combine for over 100 years in the map business. Luke Vavra of Cartographic Arts is retiring, and much of his remaining stock is being consigned in the sale. Jonathan Potter, of Jonathan Potter Ltd., and Steve Luck, of Tooley Adams & Co. are also providing material. I originally planned to write about the sale myself, but when I asked Eliane Dotson, co-owner of Old World Auctions with her husband Jon, about the sale, it turned out she had already prepared a great background piece on all three men consigning. Here is their story in her words, Good Things Come in Threes.

The June sale, dubbed Across the Pond, will take place June 15-22, 2016, online. Registration for the upcoming auction is open here.
