There was a terrible earthquake in Messina, Sicily, two years after the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906. The city of 170,000 was totally destroyed. Within a few days, the author/photographer of this privately published book surveyed the devastation. It is shown and recounted in Messina After the Great Disaster.
