Fine Press and Poetry from Alexander Rare Books

Wharton Esherick is best known for his furniture, but he probably made just about everything that could be carved from wood. Trained as a painter, he moved to woodcut block illustrations, and on to sculpture and furniture. That wooden furniture was viewed by millions at the 1939 New York World's Fair. Item 4, from earlier in his career, is a woodblock print of Wild Horses - Arizona, signed in pencil by Esherick. $1,250.
