Six Hundred Children's Books from Aleph-Bet

Item 321 is one of the most popular interactive books. You may have had a copy as a child, though probably not a first edition such as this. It is Pat The Bunny, with the glued on cotton which made the bunny "pat-able." Other features included a looking glass, sandpaper to replicate a scratchy beard, and a ball which squeaks when pressed (as with most copies, this no longer works. The ball was replaced in later editions for this reason). The first edition of this rare book by Dorothy Kunhardt was published in 1940. $8,500.

Here is a great book for the kids: Libertad o Meurte! That translates to "Liberty or Death," but this book is not about Patrick Henry. No, this book published in Havana in 1960 salutes the leaders of the Cuban Revolution. All of your favorite Communists are here, including Castro brothers Fidel and Raul, and T-shirt favorite "Che" Guevara. The album includes 325 picture cards mounted in the appropriate spaces within the book. Item 452. $6,000.
