Twenty auctions were archived during the past week to the Rare Book Transaction History, 12 in euros, 6 in U. S. dollars, 1 in British pounds, and 1 in South African rands. Total sales for the week were $8,070,674. Lots offered were 5,590, while 3,549 sold for a 63.5% sell through rate. Sales dropped off considerably from the previous week, with the primary culprit being the Memorial Day holiday in America, which greatly reduced the number of sales held in the U. S. Going forward, we will see some modest recovery in the number of sales, but not to May levels. Summer is rapidly approaching and it is traditionally the slowest time of the year.
