Auctions: The Pace Quickens
For the week ending Saturday March
17th 20 auctions were archived in the AED; 9 denominated in Euros, 3
in British Pounds, 8 in US dollars. Five thousand one hundred and eighty lots were offered and 4,108 sold for a 79% success
rate. Total turnover was $11,808,311, a
number exaggerated by Christie’s successful sale of photographs on March 12th
that brought in $5,903,250 for 36 lots.
The other 19 sales and their 4,072 lots raised $5,905,081.
